Step 1: Consultation and Assessment
You’ll meet with an orthodontist to discuss your problems and treatment goals. The orthodontist will check your teeth, bite, and overall oral health. Digital scans and X-rays will be used to generate a 3D model of your teeth and jaw.
The orthodontist will use this information to develop a personalized treatment plan, outlining the expected duration of treatment and showing you a preview of your anticipated results.
Step 2: Aligner Fabrication
The 3D pictures are transmitted to a specialized facility, where a set of custom aligners is manufactured for you. The treatment plan will determine the order in which the aligners should be worn.
Step 3: Aligner Wear
You’ll need to wear each set of aligners for 20-22 hours per day, taking them out only for eating, drinking (excluding water), brushing, and flossing. Typically, you’ll need to switch your aligners every 1-2 weeks.
Step 4: Regular Checkups
You will have regular appointments with our orthodontist to assess your progress, ensure the aligners fit properly, and make any required changes to the treatment plan.
Step 5: Refinement (if needed)
In some cases, minor refinements may be needed towards the end of treatment to fine-tune the final results.
Step 6: Retainers
Once treatment is completed, you will be fitted with retainers to maintain your smile. Retainers are often worn at night to keep your teeth from slipping back into their original places.
